Such a move was expected and probably many will want to get one. The price at currently 2600€ is too expensive for me. That doesn't pay off with the little pictures I had time to take recently. Also to fully use the 12MP one needs to buy full frame lenses.
Currently, my D80 does all that I want and I can't think of much that its expected successor (D90 or D10) would improve. I'm certainly skipping this round of digital single lens reflex cameras and look what they can offer in 2 more years and if I've got more time by then ^^
