hello,
i had initiated this group with the intent of having a set of favorites for my own, so that i could link to my blog, outside ipernity, so to show the many talents we have united here. i changed my mind and deemed it more challenging and enticing the interaction amongst members, also having all members posting their photos too! i think we can all learn more that way. FYI... i will be linking, either way, this group's alias to my outside blog and for those here on ipernity that like the way the group grows, you are welcome to link the group to your sites also.
~ A NOTE ON PRIVACY... for those worried about privacy issues with your work and don't want your shots downloaded in any way or form, make sure that in your account configurations on ipernity, you have your licensing set to "all rights reserved" and your privacy and permissions set to "allow downloads only from you". this way, no matter who clicks from where online, on your image... it can never be downloaded. that goes for all groups on ipernity and flickr.
~ ON BLOGGING...i will also mentioned this because there are still some people out there that don't know how blogging works. in your account settings on ipernity or flickr for that matter, you will be given a choice to allow people to blog your photos or not. if you allow the blogging of your images, it permits people to post you image on their site, what ever type of site it is, using html coding, referring to your image url. that means technically that on any given day, if you remove that image from ipernity or flickr, it will also be removed from the person's site that blogged you. that reminds me of an irritating friend who posts his beautiful images on his flickr and ipernity page and cannot keep anything on his page, in stable manner, for more than 72 hours and that at best! ;P drives me nuts! i have to remember never to blog any of his stuff! ~ anyhow... on blogging...remember two things...1. it is courteous and proper if you let the owner of the shot know you want to blog his image before you do so and for what reason you want to do so, and where you want to put it... even, if he allows blogging automatically on his shot under his configurations. it doesn't hurt to ask and you can always email them prior or even mention it on the comments section under the image you like. 2. remember when you are blogging someone's shot... do you know how stable this person is? is he or she the type that pulls things offline at any moment? i say this because, it is hectic enough to keep ourselves organized, especially those of us that have more than one site, run more than one group, and more than one blog... it is easier to keep organized when the material used is "stable". if you know what i mean! ;)) or else... in the end, you will feel like me, wanting to strangle my friend, for making me go back and have to work at that posting again! haha
either way, i am glad you are here! the idea is always to enjoy what we do! ;)
cheers!
