I have several Japanese objects that I would like to know more about, and have wanted to know for several years. They are not particularly exotic or valuable in any way but I'm fond of them. Would it be acceptable to post images of them to this Group and ask for help or would that be inappropriate ??

Perhaps not necessarily post to Group Images but to Discussion if more acceptable ?

Any thoughts on this from Group members ??

just simple objects but I have had them for many years
and all my life I have been cursed by a need to know
lol

Your objects are probably far less pedestrian / more exotic?

I have a small red head on a flat stick with a string behind it.
Sort of looks like it might be made of papier mache?
Pull on the string and the head's eyes roll up and it's tongue pokes out.
A child's toy or a souvenir from a place in Japan or relates to a festival perhaps?
The stick has Japanese characters on it.
It seems to have some age to it
and I assume it relates to a Folk Tale?
I thought if I posted an image some one might recognise the character
and translate the writing?
I've Googled with no success
