why I take pictures:

- My camera is my tool to put my feelings down "on paper".

- "A picture tells more than a thousand words." In my pictures I express that which I cannot put in words.

- I capture all that touches me. And I am happy for all, who are touched by that.

How did you first get in touch with photography?

My father gave me his Olympus Pen F SLR. Ever since photography fascinated me.

Why do you photograph?

Because I'm a very bad painter... ;)
Photography is a means to get in touch with my inner self. When I take pictures I tend to forget everything around me. The same when editing later at home. To me it's some sort of meditation.

Which motifs do you take special interest in?

Mostly nature. Mostly details. But also landscape in general and architectural or technical detail. To me the light is also very important. Something can interest me if the light is interesting. But the next day with different light I may ignore it.

Can you describe your approach to photography?

Photography to me consists of two steps. First I am very watchful of my surroundings. I try to capture my view on things that are there. Usually I don't change anything for the picture. But I take care about the perspective.
The second step is the editing. I change the colours, lighting and framing to my mood and feel of the picture. But the basis is always the picture the way I took it. I don't add any objects or motifs that weren't there.

How would you describe your photographic style?

I can't exactly say why, but I like to say I do impressionistic photography.

What do pictures evoke within you?

Pictures can evoke anything from sadness, melancholy to joy and happiness in me.

Do you have a motto?

I know I'm not the first nor only one to say this: Carpe Diem :)

Why are you here at Ipernity?

I like the pesonal touch Ipernity radiates. I like the way I can personlize my page and I like all the contacts I have here!

warum ich fotografiere:

- Meine Kamera ist mein Werkzeug, mit dem ich meine Gefühle „zu Papier“ bringe.

- Ich nehme auf, was mich bewegt. Und freue mich über jeden, den meine Bilder bewegen.

Wie bist Du zuerst mit Fotografie in Berührung gekommen?

Mein Vater gab mir mal seine Olympus Pen F. Seitdem hat mich Fotografie fasziniert.

Warum fotografierst Du?

Weil ich ein schlechter Maler bin... ;)
Die Fotografie ist für mich ein Mittel um mit meinem innersten Ich Kontakt aufzunehmen. Wenn ich fotografiere, kann ich alles um mich herum vergessen. Dasgleiche wenn ich die Bilder später zu Hause bearbeite. Für mich ist das eine Art Meditation.

Welche Motive interessieren Dich besonders?

Meistens Natur. Meistens Details. Aber auch Landschaft allgemein und architektonische oder technische Details. Für mich ist das Licht auch sehr wichtig. Wenn das Licht stimmt kann mich etwas interessieren, das mir an einem anderen Tag gar nicht auffällt.

Kannst Du Deine Herangehensweise ans Fotografieren beschreiben?

Fotografie besteht für mich aus zwei Schritten. Zuerst beobachte ich mein Umfeld sehr genau. Ich versuche meine Sicht auf die Dinge aufzunehmen, so wie sie vor mir sind. Dazu verändere normalerweise gar nichts für das Bild. Aber ich achte sehr auf die Perspektive.
Der zweite Schritt ist dann die Nachbearbeitung. Ich verändere die Farben, das Licht und den Ausschnitt so, wie es meiner Stimmung und meinem Gefühl für das Bild entspricht. Die Grundlage ist dabei immer das Bild so wie ich es aufgenommen habe. Ich füge keine Objekte oder Motive hinzu, die nicht bei der Aufnahme nicht da waren.

Wie würdest Du Deinen Fotografierstil beschreiben?

Ich kann nicht genau sagen warum, aber ich sage gerne das ich impressionistisch Fotografie mache.

Was lösen Bilder bei Dir aus?

Bilder können bei mir alles von Traurigkeit und Melancholie bis Freude und Glück auslösen.

Hast Du ein Motto?

Ich weiß, ich bin weder der erste, noch der einzige der das sagt: Carpe Diem. Pflücke den Tag.

Warum bist Du hier bei Ipernity?

Ich mag das persönliche, das Ipernity ausstrahlt. Ich finde es gut wie ich meine Seite hier selber gestalten kann und ich mag all meine Kontakt, die ich hier habe!
