Hi Folks,

Yesterday Yahoo! sent me the following note about my profile:

An important notice about your Yahoo! Profiles photo

We're making some changes that will affect one of your Yahoo!
profiles. After April 9, 2008, mature content will not be
permitted within Yahoo! Profiles.

In accordance with this new policy, users will no longer be able to
designate an "adult profile," and mature content will be removed.

The profile for the Yahoo! ID james_smith47 is marked "adult."
The picture associated with this profile will be removed and
deleted on April 9, 2008.

We encourage you to upload a new profile photo on that date that
complies with the Yahoo! Terms of Service and Community
Guidelines. Please take a moment to review our Terms of Service
and Community Guidelines.

Thank you,

The Yahoo! Profiles Team

Funny thing about photo used for my Yahoo! profile is that it is not adult whatsoever. Unless you read the print on the t-shirt... and may be offended by it.

To make it completely clear: my Yahoo! buddy icon is exactly the same as I use here, on Flickr or on any (or most) of other services I use.

I marked my profile there to be "adult" because it contained links to the adult sites as well as words "pussy" and "beaver."

Doing so I thought I am crazy or obsessed with safety, but it looks like not as much obsessed with "adult" stuff as Flickr/Yahoo team.

SHAME ON THEM!!!

I would like to hear from you: did you receive note like that too? What do you think?

I know that many of you use(d) Flickr with conjunction with (and often because of having) Yahoo account. Well - that was my case anyway.

JIM

p.s. Btw I changed the content of my profile so now there are not "pussy" or "beaver" or "sex" words... Still I write about "nudism" and "naturism" and leave there links to some pretty naughty places. I wonder what will happend. If they delete my buddy icon I am going to upload... the same one. LOL
