Hi there, www.ipernity.com/user/bnjmn.blmchn. I hope the good Panayotis doesn't mind that I've added you as Admin. Then you can help shape the Group.

Maybe we'll add a few more as Admins as they join, then just make people Moderators once we've got six or seven - what do you think, fellow Admins ?

I've added Roberto Ballerini www.ipernity.com/home/14433 as Moderator, as he is Admin for about thirty groups already !!! Hope he doesn't mind.

Lunaryuna www.ipernity.com/home/15003 has been added as an Admin - her stream is very active and she started all sorts of pseudo-group threads before Groups came along.

Kaya* www.ipernity.com/home/kaya and Ther www.ipernity.com/home/theresa are now Moderators, too. Hi, Ther and Kaya* ! :-) If you want to be an Admin, give one of the Admins a shout !

ileaana www.ipernity.com/home/ileanaa is and Amandine www.ipernity.com/home/alma1978 are Admins, too; Zenzuata and gdiazdeleon www.ipernity.com/home/gdiazdeleon are Mods - welcome to you all !

I shall let others welcome new members at the bottom of this thread, before the title gets too loooong (like one of Don Andre's), and so I don't have to keep adding stuff - the other Admins can promote n00bs to Moderator and earn their keep ! :-P

{I've also drafted a note on picture commenting ... (Edited out for brevity).}

No problem at all! (of course!)

And I agree to have it more hierarchical ... in any case there is nothing "useful" an administrator should do in this group ... since we don't have rules for the pool, etc. ... if from the beginning we don't make anyone administrator (but only the "first" ones here) new members will not feel "offended" and it will be OK I think ...

Nice!

I like the message!

One strategy could be to build first a couple of threads with the help of some new ipernity friends to bootstrap it and then send all together the invitations to the new people whose photos were used until then ... but I am not sure ... as you wish ...

EB Edit: Tee, hee - we can edit posts, but only for seven days after the last edit :-P But it doesn't say who edited things :-(

Pan:it says! I can see it ...

EB: so it does - maybe I didn't notice :-S Or maybe they JUST added it ? Nope, it doesn't have it for my modification - maybe a glitch, or maybe I am the SuperAdmin !!

Edit: You have to Refresh the Browser to see who last edited :-)

thank you for your confidence, eric. i think the comment to the pictures has to be shorter. in my opinion it is sufficient to say: "I put this picture to this thread (+link). Hope you don't mind."

A Eric Bartholemew says:
Okay :) Otherwise it becomes like the massive comments on Flickr (if you are familiar with Flickr).

A Panayotis pro says:
I also agree but maybe add something to "encourage" participation and make it more friendly.

For example, "I put this picture to this thread (+link). Hope you don't mind and you are welcome to contribute :-)"

How about "I put this picture to this thread (+link). Hope you don't mind and you are welcome to join us and contribute :-)" or is it getting too long again ?

A Panayotis pro says:
either you go to "all sizes", you select the medium and copy the html code and paste it in the comments text area or you use my script (see the beginnings thread) ... but you must have firefox to do the latter ...

A Eric Bartholemew says:
1) PHOTOS
To link a photo in a thread, click on the photo, click on view all sizes, then choose Medium and copy and paste the HTML like this:
{a href="http://blah-de-bah"}name of owner{/a} to give:
20070918-DSC 0138nfb.Malle - Nichts als Hobby

OR (easier)

Here is a script to make it easier for you to grab photos together with the reference to the photographer (works only with firefox)

www.aueb.gr/users/antoniadis/hdocs/photo_comment.html

Drag the first link ("ipernity photo comment") to your bookmarks folder ... (read the text to understand how it works)

2) ADDRESSES
To link an address (comment, or Blog, or User), copy and paste the Address from the Address Bar in your browser:
example: www.ipernity.com/group/brainweather/discuss/10574

Oh, and to add formatting to text, use ^b^ and ^/b^ for bold or ^i^ and ^/i^ for italics, either side of the bit you want to format :-) (With ^ substituted for lessthan sign and ^ for greaterthan sign before and after the b or i - edit this thread to see ! You have seven days :-P)

Welcome Wanda www.ipernity.com/home/wandakujacz
and Sighthound! www.ipernity.com/home/sighthound

Btw, Sighthound was the one who had the original idea for playing domino in the pool at flickr's brainweather ... there, it was more successful though :-)

Eric, this was your job! ... where are you?

I wanted also to say something for the distinction between administrators and moderators (because I don't feel very well being an administrator -we cannot demote ourselves btw).

When Eric created the group here, we thought that it would be nice to make it "open" (that is to invite people whose photos are posted in the threads -not always, whenever we feel they will like the game ... and we have time :-)). So, we decided to make only the first members administrators and leave the rest as moderators (just for safety and due to some bad experiences in flickr).

Anyway, just to say that this distinction doesn't mean really anything ...
