Can you give an code example?

Isn't that a feature which is in line with the 'normal behaviour' of Ipernity? When not logged in, the 1024 size is not accessible. When attempting to access the document using the API unsigned and unauthenticated, it does the same, it refuses access...

some of 1024 thumbs url seems to be broken

I don't know if there is also a bug, but as Christophe explained somewhere the smaller sizes, the 1024 and the original have three different naming schemas, This is due to the privacy politics: everyone can see the smaller public shots, but only the pro members can see and download the higher resolution ones and every member can decide if the higher resolution ones have to be public (and downloadable): take a look to your preferences page: here

but I am confirming this:
calling doc.get to retrieve the 1024 thumb of one of my documents with a valid token and signed request.

For some of my documents, this works fine, but for others will not !!

I can confirm that with live testing, even in signed mode with full rights:

give the doc_id 3518834 I get

All urls are working but the last is broken.

Roberto is right. You need to allow "Contacts" to view the "Bigsize Thumbnail" in your preferences: "Big size: the 1024 pixels large thumbnail when available."

Besides of this, a 1024x URL is only returned by the API when you perform a signed call (with auth-token).

We are not talking about contacts having problem viewing the BIG SIZE thumbs
it is another story !!!

I'll give you an example:
h-e-n-r-y has a document
the id is 3518834 see the page www.ipernity.com/doc/h-e-n-r-y/3518834
if you click see all sizes you can see the BIG SIZE thumb, and the correct url of the THUMB is

BUT if you use live-testing of doc.get you will get another url

so, this is the bug.
