New group management

Due to the difficulty of managing the different feelings about group, from now on there will be no more invitation to post to the group.
Everyone having right to post, can do it. The access to the pool is still moderated.
New moderators and admins needed.

This is our last effort to maintain open this group. If it isn't acceptable, the group will be closed.

Thanks for understanding,
Roberto and Reinhard

Im sad and angry!
Because of some unfriendly members who doesn't respect the work and effort of people here, the group loses its assignment!

That's unfair to all the other (friendly) members here!
Pls. continue your great work and keep inviting great shots to the group!

As far as I know, the following ipernity member (among others of course) is responsible for your decision: mad.melon

Please reveal other troublemakers as well!

I am trying to understand what is going on in here? Are you talking only about this group or about everyone? Hope that you intelligent men will sort this out, don't let as Marco said that some idiots will spoil the fun... cheers

btw. I wouldn't have a single photo in this group, if Reinhard wouldn't have invited me!
And that's because I usually don't read the "what's hot"-page ...

I really liked explore in flickr and I do like it here on ipernity.
It gives me a quick overview about shots, that had been noticed before by other members.
So the possibility is big, that I also like these shots ;)

btw: Members who don't want their pictures to be found in explore, should click the "Remove this doc from public search?" Link!

no, that's not it ;-)
My "surfing behaviour" is usually like this:
* frontpage
* last activity
* latest docs from my network
* latest docs on the site

only sometimes when I'm bored or so, I take a look on "what's hot"

btw. what would happen if someone who doesn't want to get invited would use the "block user"-option?
would the blocked user be able to place comments and -so far - invitations?
perhaps that would be an option for those who don't want to get invited to this group ...

There should be a "block-group" option!
That's an idea.

But thats not the point: It's about "unfriendliness"!

Sometimes it's like a little competition: Who found the pic first in Explore?
This funny thing I wouldn't miss.

Honestly... I don't want a change in this group. If someone don't like to get an invitation he/she could also use the button *delete* if this comment not wished.
So please go further withit and give the people a chance who want it or could need it!

Sorry, but this time I have to agree with the people who want the freedom to refuse invite to groups without comments.
As a group admin, I can understand how frustrating can be to be "insulted" when we give an invite, but as an Ipernity member, I can equally understand how can be frustrating to receive unwanted invites or to find comments containing huge glitter images all around the stream and guestbook.
I think it would be great if the Team can give us the opportunity to unable/disable the invite to group links on our streams or, better, to give us the possibility to accept invites only from the groups we joined. (same for graphics in the comment: I don't understand why I can modify every topic in a group if I am an admin, but I can't modify comments to my pics in my stream; when I find a comment with a big graphic, the only possibilities I have are delete it or maintain it and I cannot modify the html to remove or resize the graphics).
In the meantime I think it is a form of respect for the freedom of the other members to try to remember who doesn't want invites or comments or glitter graphics or... friends ;-))

That's not the question Roberto. Of course: Everyone has the right to refuse invites! BUT he/she has to do that in a friendly way! And that is what counts, imho ;)

I agree. Not all of us, anyway, have the same idea about what's acceptable or friendly. I think your reference to mad.melon is unfriendly; you of course think differently. Trying to share these different points of view is one of the more difficult problems of community sites. Tolerance or enforcement are the only ways I know: I usually choose tolerance. But it's only my opinion ;-)))
I hope we can help the Team to find features to facilitate teh cohexistence of different points of view about groups and sharing and bookmarking and security and censorship and ... ok ... i can continue until tomorrow

Yes Roberto, I think, that you have the right to name the person, who don't respect the rules in a community. I really don't like bad behavior!

btw: This blog entry from her says it all, imho.

LOL!
This is another point where I agree with her: there have to be a better management of administration of groups; too many times I found myself to be the only admin of a group without notice and we asked the Team long time ago to write a better procedure to demote from administration or moderation.
This said, I agree with you: I don't like bad behaviours (but I'm a human person: i made all those mistakes and i can understand someone who is too upset to calibrate his/her own words).
By the way: I hope my words haven't been too rude; I'm a self-learner for English as for Photography and it's very difficult to express myself in both languages ;-)

Hi Sherry :)
only a few facts: Some nice People on ipernity try to make this place even better by spending a lot of time. For example: The admins of this group search the what's-hot list every day and invite people to put their photos into this group.
Ipernity invented the group feature for the pleasure of all members. An essential component of the group feature is the possibility to invite other users to groups
Now, there are a few members, that feel bothered to be invited to some groups. What can they do? Well the easiest way to deal with this is, to say "thanks" and ignore the invite. That's what I do ;) Another way is to delete the note ... only two clicks. The worst way, is to attack the admin of the group and to blare out a threat of blogging the member.
Well, as you may have guessed, that's exactly what has happend to the admins of this group.
And that is making me mad!

What a pity, I was always looking forward to this invitation. :(
But I understand the trouble. It would be really great, if the Team made it possible, to select which invites you want and which not! (And while I'm at it, I want a black backdrop for the picture view!)

Sorry: I'm really fed up with all these personal flames between members that, IMHO, only damage the Ipernity Community.
I will leave the group administration: too many members think that I'm the owner of the group (it isn't so) and I don't want to moderated those silly "duels"...
Have fun!
