A video photo is more a "moving" photo than a normal video ... it should have a still frame (trembling hands are accepted :-)) and no more than 1minute duration ...

(sorry for deleting posts that do not follow this definition ... there are strict rules in this group! :-))

By the way, I also wanted to say that although I had tried many times in the past to take such video photos I was not very successful (except the ones I just posted here) ... but xdrei's perfect video photo inspired me to try again ... you should also try it ... it is very interesting! (and not easy at all!)

Maybe we could discuss about the different possible types of video photos, give them names and start writing a tutorial :-)

For me a video photo should have a central action/moment happening inside the steady frame, which has a beginning and an end, and an "empty time". Depending on when this moment happens in the lifetime of the video photo and the total amount of empty time, the whole feeling changes.

Anyway ... I don't have time to think/write more ... what do you think? which are the main types of video photos?

a video photo has also a storyline and a hook... if you'd upload Lola here, we'd see a great example, that you might want to theorize :o)

So, what do you have to say about her? :-)

:o) she is funny! I like the even sound background from the radio, and the lack of movement within the frame, until Lola comes out full of life, only to pass through the frame and leave it with the same even and static background. so to me it's the element of surprise and the contrasting vibration of her appearance that makes the video photo memorable and funny...
