Wow! I am impressed with the postings so far.
My hope is that once the pool is larger then I can start individual "galleries/threads" on particular themes, so here are some suggested themes

Spirals
Shadow
Distorted grids
Corners
Color
Op-art
Circle
Organic
Diagonal
Elegant
Curve
Mondrian
Stripes
Mandala
Triangle
Underfoot
Macro
Rhythm
Yin/Yang
Symmetry
Disymmetry
Grid
Wave

Any other suggestion?

Please take the time to look at the works here,....... do you think a comment code is useful?

If I can add my 2cents thinking, I think to put the thread title as an indication on each pix is better than keeping them grouped. It takes more time to go from one to another. Besides, you have more variety in forms and each thread will not look like a catalog.

The most simple way is to use tags. Then you only need one thread were all "themes" are listed.

I love the idea of themes...like one per month perhaps and then close it for the next theme...too many threads gets cumbersome for posting and viewing. The different themes would still be there for continuous viewing, just not for posting. Keep it simple.

Rust could be another theme...but I am biased.
Since you mentioned mandala, how about kaleidoscope also.

Je trouve cette idée fort intéressante; elle renouvelle l'esprit d'une base de données de photos et elle est plus exigente aussi. Dans la liste on pourrait peut-être rajouter Rythme?

-Nature Made Geometrics (same as organic?)

wow, I propose you, Jake, to add "Encyclopaedia" to the actual name of the group.

If you choose to make themes, be carefull to put 1 picture in 1 theme only. It is very booring to see a picture in 3 or more different themes... May be a better definition of the themes? You can put so many words on an abstract picture....

what about cracks? (ie, in the road, in a wall, etc.)

except in rare instances, I would say cracks are not geometric enough.

I'm going to wait until we have 1,000 pics!
But there is no reason you can't "curate" a show!
decide a theme or topic, find pics in the pool, post them in a new thread!
