Rufus the Rescued pup

Rufus the Rescued pup
Allied Whale is a research organization that holds the catalogs of both the North Atlantic Humpback and Finback whales. Over the last 30 years they have gathered photographs of identifying marks on both species (the fluke on the Humpback and the markings on the right side of a finback called the chevron) that make it possible to do long term study the lives of individual whales.

But they are also involved in rescuing marine mammals and have seen several seal pups released back into the wild.... healthy and strong. Lots of very good things going on there.

They have an adopt a whale program.... they make great Christmas Presents. I have volunteered there for years. It is a wonderful group doing very good things on a small scale.
