Penedos, Milky way

YESTERDAY NIGHT THERE WAS NO VISIBLE MOON BUT I COULD NOT AVOID SOME LIGHT POLLUTION FAR SOUTH.
I JUS ENLIGHTENED THE TREE FOR 1SECOND WITH A FLASHLIGHT TO PRODUCE THIS EFFECT.
IN POST PROCESSING I JUST CORRECTED THE LIGHT ON THE TREE. ONE THING I MOSTLY APPRECIATE WITH MY CAMERA IS THAT PROCESSING IS NUL OR REDUCED, MOST TIMES I USE PHOTOSHOP ONLY TO GIVE A TITTLE AND KEEP THEM ON THE LIBRARY.

It is funny because I was in the middle of nowhere and very far from any village. The red lights are from eolic generators 20 km away... it is incredible how they pollute...

Wonderful that you can see the milky way! Where (and back when) I grew up there was little light pollution in our small town, and I saw it often. Not here in our small city., unfortunately.

When I was a kid we used to see it a lot better but villages had no public light and night was night, we had fireflies... now not even one.

Sorry to hear about the fireflies. When we moved North for the first few years I was glad to see one or two in late June. Now there are hundreds in the field across the parkway, and dozens in our own lawn. I love to see them.

A wonderful effect Isabel, I had noticed the distant lights in one of the other shots, it would be wonderful if we could have the occasional dark night, it's hopeless where I live with the lights from Leicester and the street lights, I don't like gardens full of solar powered LED lights

What annoys me is that being in the middle of nowhere there is always some light... I miss so much the nights we had when village had no public lights ... and I assure you that nobody fell (except if too much drink), even old people used to find their way in the darkness...

Isabel it is nice to see the Milky way In someone else's photos. I am playing in the very bottom of your shot as I wait for clouds to pass and give me a night. Top marks I did tell you it was easy. Tip Hid the flash light behind a cloth even a white towel for the 8 Seconds better lighting more like Low Level Lighting than try a bright burst..

I have added a few PIP's you can remove if you wish.

Thanks for the tip, Steve, I will use it next time, I tried to disminish the light with my hand but not very easy doing it all without help.
I love the idea of your PIPs in complement to my picture, it is an added value, and that is how things should always be between people...

No I don't... I am a "simple" photographer, still in my mind close to analogic philosophy, so I try to get my shots SOOC with no or little post processing needed.
But I will have a look at the Sequator then...

I, like Gudrun above very rarely get to see the Milky Way nor indeed many stars for light pollution from our cities and constant rain cloud. Love the way you have caught the tree in your flash too making it reach out to the stars. Very well done -Love it. ⭐
