Beautiful colors and textures (I am amazed at the firmness of your hand when shooting one-handed), Isabel, but most of all what catches my eye is that, in doubling over on itself, it forms a circle ... or maybe completes the spiral of its beautifully marbled shell.
Not shy at all and with almost an amused grin ... it must have senses your good intentions somehow! :)

I still have firm hands for my age, and what helps is that my hands have long fingers and are largest that most men's ... size 8-8,5! First I picked up the little guy and he did not hide into his shell... I was surprised and as I was going out with my cam I just had to find the right position to imortalize him!

Maybe... I often rescue animals and they seem to somewhat feel that intentions are good...

Many years ago, when I was a kid, I had a pet - such a snail (Helix pomatia) which I brought home one day. It lived quite a long time (several years), it was not afraid of me, it liked to be touched and fed with lettuce :)

I could have kept this little fellow... but he is so much happy in the wild I guess. When I was a kid I was always rescuing animals too...
