The market in Hội An

The market in Hội An
The market in Hội An is an attraction for every visitor so see. The Viets offer their vegetable and fruits to buy, just at the corner a shop sells meat and fish. (The vendor woman on the right still shows the bad remain of the last war, she lost an arm.)

I went through more than 70+ Rocket Attacks in 1968-1969, and there was a Vietnamese Village just outside the Wire where our Barracks were located. Many of the Rockets landed in the Village instead of the base.

There are Tens of Thousands of Vietnamese Ex-Patriots who left their Country when the Communist Took Over. My Hair Stylist, who cuts my hair is Vietnamese and she returns to Vietnam on a frequent basis. A couple of years ago, a very large number of Vietnamese participated in the American Military Veterans Day in Washington, D.C.

My Group of Military Veterans have Returned to Vietnam in Large Numbers - Looking to Heal the Wounds of War and to Share the Stories of those who fought against each other.

In 1966 to 1968 in the Beer Tents in Germany, many of the German WWII Veterans would buy me a Beer and then Share their Stories of the War against the Russians, English, or Americans. At the End of the Night, I bought them Beers, Also.

I have no hard feelings - I never had hard feelings, and I have had many Vietnamese Friends here in the United States.
