The Hoffellsjökull

The Hoffellsjökull
Hoffellsjökull (Hoffell Glacier) is the northernmost of those glaciers that crawl forward from the east of the highest point of Breiðubunga in Vatnajökull. It crawls down between Gæsaheiði and Hoffellsmúli and is about 700 metres high and lies about 10 km. down to the flatland in a runway that has dig itself considerably below sea level. Where Hoffellsjökull is thickest it's about 560 metres and from that comes Hornafjarðarfljót.
