Ah I never knew what that was. I think the same as this plant www.ipernity.com/doc/tonyrodgers/16876569 which I photographed in Aug 2012 - very widespread ground cover in mid-western NSW National Parks (e.g. Conimbla & Weddin Mountains).

Is it an Australian native? Many of these areas look otherwise relatively free from introduced plants...

It's in my Victorian Flora Database plants local to my area, Tony. There are six Hydrocotyle species listed and as far as I know, they are native to Australia or have established themselves over time to now be considered as 'native'.

Thanks. It is extremely widespread in many areas I visit (often quite dry areas). I'm glad it's not a pest - will have to keep an eye out for the flowers...
