Capusa cuculloides Has Emerged

Capusa cuculloides Has Emerged
At the moment, there is a question mark over the correct identity of this moth.

It emerged on 29th May, 2011.

Given the markings on the caterpillar which pupated on 6th November, 2010 and fed exclusively on the leaves of Schinus molle (Peppercorn), I am reasonably confident it is Capusa cuculloides. However, it might possibly be Capusa stenophara because of the prominent white markings on the wing. I am awaiting confirmation one way or the other and will update when a positive identification has been undertaken.

I might add I failed Mothing 101 as I was unable to obtain a decent view let alone a photograph of the hindwing - without inflicting injury to the moth! :-)

UPDATE: Identification as Capusa cuculloides now confirmed.
