White Castle.

Set amongst the rolling hills of North Monmouthshire, White Castle was the largest of three (the others were Grosmont and Skenfrith); troops stationed here were sent to the other castles at need. On the day of our visit a troop of musketeers were staging a demonstration; dressed in period costune they were happy to share their knowledge and enthusiasm, or perhaps, as in times of old to persuade the unwary to 'accept the Kings shilling'.
