Zuri

Zuri
This young lady meandered into a neighbor's yard. The neighbor gave her food, loved her up, and called me. Once I got her into our bathroom, I noted the clipped ear. It appears to have been a clean wound, most likely done to signify the girl has been spayed. She does have a belly on her, but I suspect it is from eating well. I'd love to find her owners and have not put her back out because we do not have a safe neighborhood for cats, especially white ones that can be picked off by resident owls at night. For now, I have named her Zuri and will keep her in our basement bathroom. I'll deworm her but hold off on everything else.

Sorry for the lower quality photo. It was dark in the bathroom, so I had the shutter speed at 1/160. Zuri spent most of her time up against me begging for loving, so I couldn't get photos until she decided to hop up onto the top of the shower door. Zuri quickly realized that wasn't an easy place to perch, so she turned and hopped down. This is the one photo I managed to take to show off her beauty.

She is very pretty! That tipped ear does seem to indicate that she is spayed, but I guess if she is friendly enough she could be shaved to look for a spay scar. My vet did that once on a suspected spayed female and indeed found the scar. I hope you find her owner and that she will be safe. I like her name!

I think I'd need an extra hand to shave her. I'd rather do it myself so I know which vet to use for her. Thee name means "beautiful" in one language and "white" in another. Seemed appropriate for this young lady!

Just noticed she's straddling the top of the shower door! My cat Rocky does that. I once found him inside the shower, crying from behind the glass door. I wondered how he got there - that is until I saw him jump up there again.

Hopefully this beauty will find her way home.
