Young Beauty

Young Beauty
When Giselle had her spay and rabies vaccine the other week, the vet office determined her to be a mere nine months old. Quite a young momma for one who no longer has her kittens (I hope they were old enough to survive on their own, sigh), but that seems to be common (Vidalia, Zinnia, Sweetie, etc.). The vet office nicks the ears of their spays/neuters as a means to identify felines as already "fixed." I'm not quite sure what happened with Giselle's ear, but I wonder if they needed to use some silver nitrate to control the bleeding. I suspect Giselle reacted to the silver nitrate, and just the other day a ratted chunk fell off the area in the shape of a small "V" corresponding to her nick. The area is still a bit red now, and the resultant tattered nick is the largest I've seen. Thankfully, this young beauty has such spunk and love that her ear is one of the last things noticed in person.

Dear, sweet girl has been through a lot in her short life. I'll list her as available once I compile photos and write her ad. I'm on call tonight, tomorrow night and then this coming weekend as well, not to mention caring for my neighbors' feline crew for a couple of weeks, so I hope I get time to get Giselle's advertisement posted soon.

Poor girl! That ear! I know it will be better with time and it probably doesn't even bother her now, but it does look like quite a chunk. She is beautiful with those green eyes and TWO Sunstones cat toys! I hope she will find a great home!

I feel so badly for her, losing her babies because of an insensitive human, and then having such a chunk taken from her ear. I hope she heals quickly and completely, and finds a loving home. I'm so glad she made her way to you, so she knows compassion and the love of a human after a rather rough start.
