Looks a lot like the old Underwood my grandma gave me when I was a kid. I think the most basic way that the computer improves on the typewriter is: you can correct your mistakes. Imagine keyboarding very rapidly for hours with almost perfect spelling and almost no corrections. The best typewriters (old name for typists) could do that. Not me.

Remember White Out and carbon paper? :-)

I remember these days, though my typewriters were electric and I well remember whiteout, carbon paper, stencils and all that stuff. Great shot and wonderful in blac and white.
