Frosty morning, Nov 23, 2016

Frosty morning, Nov 23, 2016

Yesterday's fog left everything covered in a light coating of frost, early this morning.

Although not exactly comfortable it does look beautiful David.

It was really pretty to see. For being the last week of November and only having frost on the ground, I'm not going to complain. ;o)

Very nice!!!

Here everything is covered in thick smoke again. It looks almost like fog, but it burns in your eyes and throat. The wind has died down, and the big wildfires are contained, but they need to burn out ...

Not fun at all. We had to deal with that sort of thing two summers in a row... in 2014 and again in 2015. We were most concerned about our chickens.

Glad to hear they are finally getting a handle on the fires, though.

Maybe you've heard about the big fire in Gatlinburg on Monday night? At least 7 people died, several are still missing, more than 700 houses destroyed - and today we had storms with tornados and torrential rain. Gatlinburg is not far from here ...

A lot of people live in shelters right now. One of the shelters is a hispanic church, my friends worship there. They come tomorrow evening to pick up my husband's clothes and a lot of food, soap, cleaning stuff and so on from my basement. I'm glad I can help them a little bit, they need everything right now!

I feel so very fortunate that I was spared what they go through!

No, we didn't hear about what is going on Gattinburg! Such terrible news; we're so glad that you were spared from harm. You have enough to deal with right now. Yet, with everything going on, you are still taking time to help these people in need. You are such a kind and generous person, Barbara - you are a true blessing to those around you. You're an inspiration to us.

We'll keep praying for the Lord to watch over you.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear David! I don't deserve the praise, I can be very impatient. But when I see so much sadness around me, I feel so very blessed ...

Yes, thank you, Tanja, we're all fine here. The weather man is forecasting snow and wind for the next few days. Hopefully the temperatures won't get too cold. But, that is okay. We will just keep the fire going in the wood stove and stay nice and snug in the cabin, until the sun returns. :)

Hope you're staying nice and warm where you are, Tanja.
