WIP Felt Doll, wigged

WIP Felt Doll, wigged
Someone told me yesterday that my new felt doll looks like Rachel Weiss; and you know, she's right. So, until my sister receives this doll and possibly renames her, she shall be called Rachel!

I was itching to try this beautiful mohair yarn I received yesterday from Weir Crafts (the Waldorf doll supplier). I crocheted a wig cap, using a variation of Beth Webber's Teacup Spirit pattern to guide me. Rachel is very small and only required about six rounds to complete the cap.

Since I'm kind of iffy on crocheting, I pulled out my trusty yarn needle and made crochet loop curls on the edges of the cap. I didn't follow any particular procedure when I did this, but only relied on what I felt was pleasing to my eye.

It took a few hours to do, instead of the days it takes me to make a Tibetan lamb locks wig on a crochet wig cap; so naturally, I was really happy about that. Even more, I love the way this looks!!! I will absolutely do this again. I have lots of mohair yarn colors yet to try (hee hee).
