Ivy Rose Shoebox Cottage 015

Ivy Rose Shoebox Cottage 015
Covering the surfaces is a lot of fun. Mostly, I use acrylic paints. The sitting room (which is the only room) was painted in two shades of pale green; lighter at the top and on the ceiling; a shade darker under the paper doily and down to the floor.

The paper doily was cut to size; one piece along the back wall and a section for each side wall. You can see the darker green paint come through the doily design, which was what I wanted.

The sitting room picture was cut from a note card. The edges of the doily were outlined with a gold ink pen. Each layer is simply decoupaged to the previous layer with Mod Podge Matte for a satin finish. I edged the sitting room picture with Mod Podge Gloss as i wanted it to stand out.
