Ivy Rose Shoebox Cottage 011

Ivy Rose Shoebox Cottage 011
This is Ivy Rose's attic. The back wall was painted with Elmer's glue. While it was still wet, I then painted it with white paint. As it dries, it forms the crackle finish. The attic floor was painted in the dark green trim color first, then coated with glue, then brushed with white paint to create a crackle finish on the floor. Later, I drew floor board lines and nail heads with a dark brown Prismacolor pencil. All this was sealed with more Mod Podge.

The ceiling/roof is one piece of foam board cut to size and scored in the center to form the roof peak. This piece was covered with brown paper, then painted dark green on the underside and edges. A coat of Mod Podge seals it.

Scrap book paper was applied to the ceiling and decoupaged. You can't see the paper in any of the photos, but it is a very soft green with a tiny floral design over it in dusty rose and dark green.

The Ceiling/roof was attached with Fabri Tac glue and the roof was painted with raw umber acrylic paint.

Much later, I filled the attic with silk roses, ivy, baby's breath, a ceramic button shoe and a little ribbon. All items were glued into place with Fabri-Tac.
