Freising

Freising, an old episcopal see north of Munich, hasn’t many houses left in a shape as bad as this, but photographers love them.

Thank you for sharing your knowledge as well as your stunning photos :-)

“Stunning photos”? Thank you for saying so, but I’m just an amateur who has been lucky, occasionally... :-)
Others get far more spectacular results with tone mapping and HDR processing (rusty old cars, sunsets, cities at night), but for me the main challenge is to find settings by which photos come closer to the reality as seen by the human eye. I don’t always succeed, and the temptation to make a picture surpass reality is always present, but this door has turned out rather well.

I've only done some casual perusing, I was struck by how spectacular of some the HDR I've seen is which is what caught my eye and led me to read up on it a bit. However, I very much enjoyed the door, as you say "closer to the reality as seen by the human eye" which is what I'd like to aim for with some of my photos When I tackle this I'd like to explore this avenue, though for sure I'll be tempted into some more flamboyant stuff along the way... ;-)
