  • Bore dam

This is the bore site where we have a second supply of water. It doesn't give us that much but the bore we have on site just doesn't have enough capacity. This bore was drilled by Esso in the eighties looking for petroleum. The water has this black hydro…

  • Homestead dam

The abandonded homestead has a dam close by, this morning (7th April 2007) I was on my way to the bore so we stopped here and I took this panorama.

  • Weather the rain comes or not...

I know the first word is not the right spelling but that is intentional. Where I am working is near Stonehenge on what used to be a big property. Now the old homestead was removed but there are still some of the other buildings. I don't know what this…

  • Tractor tire

There is heaps of old junk at the old homestead, bottles, 44 gallon drums, fridges, car bodies, etc.

  • The wind is the common element

Even though the homestead has not been the for nearly 20 years this windmill still turns. It's not connected to anything so no water comes out but it still operates after 20 years with no maintenance. They built things to last back then.

  • The wind is the common element (B&W)

I know the difference is subtle but I thought I would put both the B&W and the colour version of this up.

  • Lick of paint, she will be good to go

I went to the old homestead on dusk to get the nice golden light. As you can see by the clouds in the background here I didn't get that light. I plan on going to this place many more times so I am sure I will get what I am after.

  • Leftovers

I went to the old homestead again yesterday and it was not overcast so the light was heaps better. I use The GIMP and created a script that does the post processing you see here. If you want the script you can get it here.

  • Oldie

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the shearing shed in the sunset light. This is the old sheep pens that are run down. They have been abandoned that long this tree has grown, lived and then died.

  • Shear delight

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the shearing shed in the sunset light. This shearing shed is about 500m from where the homestead used to be.

  • Old roo shooting truck

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the old cars at the garbage dump in the sunset light. I am guessing the paint used to be white, it's hard to tell through the rust.

  • Dying days

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the old cars at the garbage dump in the sunset light. You can see the windmill in the background, the homestead is a little further past the windmill.

  • Give you a grillin'

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the old cars at the garbage dump in the sunset light. This old truck is such an interesting subject to photograph, expect to see more of it and some of the other cars as well.

  • Flat tire is least of my worries

Last night I went out to the old homestead and took photos of the old cars at the garbage dump in the sunset light. The polariser filter I had helped with the colours of the car.

  • Windmill (number 3)

Third try at this windmill, I used both my Split-tone script and my translucent border script.

  • Left to die

I used a lomo script on this image and then cropped it to give me this.

  • Response from Thomas Hawk and Co.

I was sick of the non-responses from Flickr over many many things that have done in the recent past. The latest being the censorship of various countries. One thing that did keep coming up was Thomas Hawk and the photo sharing Zooomr so I decided to ch…
