There's an amazing arts event goping on in Venice - the Biennale 09. This is a huge arts exhibition which is being shown in a number of national pavillions in the Biennale Park and in the vast halls of the Arsenale (which otherwise isn't open to the public). Apart from that, there are a large number of individual artists' exhibitions throughout the city which are also very much worth a visit. And the best of it all: The event goes on till November this year.

So, if you're into arts and have time to travel this summer or autumn - this is an absolute must-see. But beware: Art fans are in for sensual overload if they want to see all in just one day - there is definitely too much to see! Plan two days if you want to have an overview, take a week if you want to see and appreciate everything!

And dojn't forget: Venice is always worth a visit, even if you skip the Biennale - the place is simply sensational.
