Thamshanvnbanen at Bårdshaug, Orkanger, Norway.
This railway is the first electric railway with both freight and passenger in Norway.
Thamshavnbanen was built to transport ore from mines that produced chalcopyrite, and north down Orkdalen to the fjord for shipment out in the world.
It is still operated as a museum railway and is the oldest alternating current powered railway in the world that is still in operation.
This particular track isn't used. The trains use the track on the left in the image.

During WW2 the chalcopyrite containing copper and sulfur was important to the german war industy so there was several attempts to stop the ore transport, but despite of several successful sabotages including blowing up locomotives and transformers, the germans managed to keep the transport running.
