In daylight, the streets and alleys around oude kerk have changed their face. Last night, it was full of people - tourists looking at the prostitutes dancing behind the windows, drug dealers waiting for clients, patrolling policemen and the like.

Now the streets are empty while the "kamers" are being cleaned for the next night. Flower shops are presenting their plants on the street, antiquarian bookstores are opening their doors and the few people you see are what you might expect in any urban neighborhood.

Wandering around, I see this pub that I already noticed yesterday - it seems that it's halfway in between day and night - not belonging into any of them and not changing it's face in daylight either. I really wonder how it looked, sounded and smelled when it was still alive - which must have been quite a while ago.
