Autumn in Kamchatka

Appearance can be deceptive............I would never have guessed this was a Gulag.............although that's the point I guess.

The white building looks fantastic in that lovely light, especially the golden tear-drop shaped domes. A superb shot Diana.

The beautifully maintained and ornamented building makes for such a sharp contrast with the bleak (although beautiful in its own right) terrain, Diana. The faceted reflections on the gold of the onion domes are wonderful.

A really gorgeousl image Diana. It looks like a fairytale castle. The landscape arond it looks wild and ruggedly beautiful. Part of the charm of this scen lies in the fact that the building almost looks out of place here, partly I guess because of the building materials and the sheer loneliness of the place. I love it.
