The cyclist

Complete with "anti-diving-bird" headgear. As an aside, my desktop computer is having problems at present with ipernity (I couldn't add the title or this note, though the laptop seems ok). So, is anyone else having problems or is it just my old and tired computer with maybe a software issue? Explored.

Vale, Don.

My father-in-law, Don, has passed away at the age of 91. He was a true "gentle man" who lived a remarkable life. I shall be away "on the road" as we travel to say our final farewells to him, and expect to be almost entirely offline. Planning to be back in time for Christmas - best wishes, everyone.

Isobelle

It's not often I post a portrait. My grand-daughter was visiting yesterday and was good enough to sit long enough for me to grab this. Don't they grow so quickly! Posted this, then checked the IMA site - found some of the best news I've seen for quite a while at www.ipernity.com/group/2260604/discuss/187672 Here's a musical link to go with it.

Tempus fugit

It's rarely that I post an image I didn't take...this is an exception. It doesn't seem that long ago either! A special occasion, to be shared with family and friends, will largely keep me away for the next few days. Meanwhile you might enjoy this matching link.

Beach gymnastics

Fine weather and a family visit saw our talented granddaughter, who does gymnastics, practising on the nearby beach. Those are the "Tollgate Islands" in the distance. Explored.

Global Climate Strike

With the failure of worldwide governments (not least ours in Australia) to take the actions needed to limit anthropogenic climate change, today is a worldwide day of protest at the need to do more. These schoolchildren were among the crowd of about 600 people of all ages at our local event - good for a small community. The PiPs show more images. There were speakers on the back of the white vehicle. Here's a musical link.

And as the sun sets ...

We can only hope that 2020 will bring better days in many ways. Not least an end to the huge fires that are causing so much damage at present in Australia - the smoke in this image is from a large one nearby. Best wishes for 2020, everyone. Footnote AM 31/12. The fires have spread enormously overnight and this one now is classified as an "Emergency" level threat to local communities.

For Mothers' Day

For Mothers' Day here, I'd like to share this portrait of my lovely wife, Pauline. Many of you have sent kind wishes concerning her health issues. Since earlier this year she has had some serious medical complications which have prevented further treatment, but those now seem resolved. I'm very glad to advise that, following a teleconference with her oncologist a few days ago, her treatment is likely to resume next week.

Isobelle

We have had a very welcome visit this weekend by our daughter and grand daughter, the first time in months (because of the virus) that it's been possible. My lovely grand daughter kindly agreed to sit for my camera.
