Three Isle Point

Three Isle Point
I didn't push on to the end as it was a bit of a rock scramble. At this stage there also was a little more cloud moving in. Worth viewing large. I once asked a geologist friend about the type of rock similar to this - his response was that it is fubarite. I'll let you look that up. :-))

(I originally had the geological term slightly incorrect, now fixed on the advice of sigwv who is a geologist.).

Günter Klaus, Erhard Bernstein, Gillian Everett, Peter_Private_Box and 29 other people have particularly liked this photo

I looked it up George ;-)) A beautiful coastline with the jagged rocks. It reminds me of parts of Cornwall. Beautifully captured with superb blues!

An imagination-inspiring image with special charm, George!
This is certainly not the solution to the term FUBAR, which was originally used probably for the first time in World War II as an abbreviation for terribly disfigured soldiers, "Fouled Up Beyond All Recognition", but what I recognize in the outlines of the craggy cliffs and trees on it. However, I could imagine that the term here was applied geologically to the condition of the cliffs.

Thank you for your kind comment. I was trying to comment on the type of rock but didn't quite have the geological term right - now corrected to "fubarite", courtesy of feedback from sigwv who is a geologist.

I'm glad to be able to contribute to peoples' lexicon. :-) It was a new word to me also. Great to see you back here again, Judith, and thank you for taking the time to look through my more recent postings.
