Watching the Barge leave
The new Batemans Bay bridge (in the background) has been largely built with the assistance of a very large barge carrying giant cranes to lift the concrete sections into place. With the main construction now almost finished, the barge recently departed again. Another of my photos is in a PiP, as is an excellent drone photo taken by "South Coast Pix" and posted on Facebook with approval for sharing.

Very well documented shots of this construction. HFF from the west while I look on in horror at todays news and just how easy it can all go wrong. I truly hope this is nailed to the wall as fast as they all hope. you keep yourselves safe and know we are hopeing this is all you get from this but know the Covid 19 reputation.

Many thanks, Udo. There's still quite a way to go, with associated roadworks etc, then the dismantling of the old bridge. I gather it will be 2023 before all is finished. HFF and have a great weekend.

Fantastic! I really enjoyed looking at your shots, with the borrowed drone picture giving us a fine perspective. What a cool project to keep an eye on! I looked it up and see that it's not going to be totally finished until 2023 (https://www.rms.nsw.gov.au/projects/batemans-bay-bridge/index.html#:~:text=The%20%24274%20million%20project%20will,be%20complete%20in%20early%202023. ) but most of it's done now! :) Thank you for the excellent report!

Oh, here we are. Almost finished! And the barge can go home. It will probably take a bit longer to fit it up with all the railings etc. but it should not be long now.
