Comet C/2020 M3 ATLAS
I heard of a new comet (at its closest this Saturday 14 Nov) and, as last night was clear I decided to try finding it. That's Orion as seen from the Southern Hemisphere and the comet off to the left (see PiP) - it's greenish and fairly dim. I should add that this image is heavily cropped (well, it was a 100mm lens after all), but it still looks good full screen.

Many thanks for all your comments on this comet capture, everyone. I was delighted that there was a clear night to capture it, even if it wasn't particularly bright - needless to say I'll keep an eye out for any more.

Early this morning I got a good view of Orion (a large gap in the clouds) and succeeded in getting a picture of this comet too. Without your upload I would probably have missed it. Thank you
