Winter afternoon, Tiabunna.

Winter afternoon, Tiabunna.

Looking toward the coastal ranges and Braidwood (behind Mt Gillamatong at the left) from our former property,"Tiabunna". When we purchased it, we were unaware of the historical links of the area. The Clarke property (see earlier images) was relatively nearby in the valley just behind and to the right of the hill near the centre (see PiP). In the mid-19th century, this area would have been entirely forested.

Why did you leave this truly picturesqe spot, George?

We had it for many years and always loved it, but the short answer is that we decided we needed to be nearer to facilities and services in our retirement (Braidwood is only small and was 35km away). Leaving was not easy and I have a print of this image on the wall above my desk.

I see. Facilities and services, maybe dentists, hospitals and physicians as well, owed to the age. If I were you, I'd made the same decision.

It's utterly beautiful with the wide views and rolling hills! I can imagine how difficult it must have been to leave such an area.

What a gorgeous view to leave behind but we well understand the needs created by retirement.
