We are having some extremely hot and dry weather here too, and there are forest fires ranging near Manchester. The fire brigade is being supported by the army. Singing along of course, but maybe a better link would be The Beatles - Rain

I love intriguing finds like that sign. Must be a great story behind it. When I first saw your photo my first thought was rain. It's hard to imagine what a real drought must be like. We have a few weeks of sunshine and no rain, suddenly in England there are water shortages, hosepipe bans and fires raging on moorland. Not in Scotland so far thankfully. There are fewer of us and lots of lochs.

I wish I knew the background story, Jean. :-) It's a particularly severe drought and, though there has been a very little rain since I took this image, they will need a total turn-around in the season to be clear.
