The tree

The tree
Yes, there is only one tree: it is a Banyan, a species of fig which drops tendrils that become new trunks to support the outward spread of branches. HFF.

In Toronto this would have been torn down for condos. Good POV -- the trunks make a diagonal leading to the horizontal line of the fence and river.

a HFF belatedly George .... I did not see this until now ...
one more oddity of events ! btw ... love those trees ... and how
the tendrils drop but I imagine over a period of time what a lot
of space they take maybe .. nevertheless they are a tree of
character without a doubt ... enjoy the weekend George, here
it is wall to wall sunshine and getting hot ... ;-) fine weather
for the cricket ;-))) looks like Aussies will loose the ashes ;-)
(I'll say no more ... it's not my cup of tea as they say) ;-)

Thanks, Bev. See my note below about these trees. I should be upset by the cricket I guess ... but it fails to excite me either. :-)

Many thanks, everyone. These trees always have impressed me. They can spread considerably: at least one was known to have covered about an acre (0.4 Ha).

That is amazing, George. Looked them up and there is one species that comes from the ast coast of Austraia, Ficus macrophylla. I assume this is it.
