Unfolding Tree Fern Frond

Unfolding Tree Fern Frond
A new frond unfolding on a Soft Tree Fern Dicksonia antarctica. This was taken in Tasmania, but these also are the most common tree ferns in the SE of mainland Australia. They grow to about 5 metres.

Treasa Ui Cionaodha, Gerda, , sasithorn_s and 7 other people have particularly liked this photo

such little beauties for colour and its as they

Thank you everyone for all your kind comments and faves. I really love these tree ferns, very much part of the vegetation of the former Gondwana and found around the southern hemisphere.

o0o such enormous "ferns" like this it looks like my
little ferns in the garden ... which I might add do very
well indeed ... although they are not in the shade ...
they like being talked to ;-)))) oOo

Yes, they are indeed true ferns - just several sizes larger. Wander among them and think how a bug feels in your garden. Must admit I've never talked to a fern, does it lead to useful conversations? :)

o0o to talk to them ;-) they are very frondleigh I find ;-) hahaha

to be a bug in a big fern tree
you would have difficulty seeing me
but if you look close you may just hear
me breathing so please have no fear
dare you look and listen to me ;-)
or will you run away quickly !

Ooops, this one got away
it was a busy day
as happens at times.
I'm no good at rhymes.
But when I talk to a tree
Folk look strangely at me.......:)

ah the one that got away
to live another day
you were so kind to answer in rhyme
"parsley sage rosemary and thyme ;-)
is what I'll sing by Garfunkal and Art
but now sadly we must part . . .
bye for now and have a great day
you did very well to rhyme I might say ;-)
