Pink Swamp Heath

Pink Swamp Heath
These flowers were growing on small shrubs in moist areas of the Tasmanian west coast and highlands. I'm fairly certain they are Pink Swamp Heath Sprengelia incarnata. [Edit] This ID has since been confirmed through discussions with a Tasmanian plant nursery.

o0o they are beautiful, love the shades of pink, the name is quite
amazing and must confess we do not have these ... I think ... but
not sure ... I love gardening or did should I say ... bad weather has
made it difficult and many plants and shrubs have died in the two
previous winters ... I hope it eases soon ... but with all our floods,
I think many spring flowering bulbs will not survive oOo

Thank you all for your kind comments and faves. These shrubs were reasonably common in the west and central highlands of Tasmania.

o0o I have seen a flower somewhere here on ipernity that had
similar colours ... now where did I see it ;-) but I think it said they
were some kind of bamboo flowers ... does bamboo have flowers ?
I did not think so ... perhaps its a common or funny name given
to them ... but will keep my eyes open ;-) oOo

Thank you for , Bev. Yes, bamboo does indeed have flowers, but this plant definitely is an Australian native. Unlike some of my other floral shots, I'm fairly comfortable with the ID on this one. :)
