Midnight sun through Weasel Gap
From an old slide. Recently arrived tractor trains at what became our depot, about 1500 metres high on the Antarctic plateau, looking due south at midnight in the northern Prince Charles Mtns.

To see the location of this photo, go to "Location" at right, click on "Antarctica" and change the view to Satellite. Taken with Minolta SR1, Auto Rokkor-PF 1.4/58mm.

WOAH. TOTALLY AWESOME!!!! I see that you are friends with Judith, I wonder if her incredible Antarctica images prompted you to scan in this picture (and others I hope?)...wow...you've been there too. So amazing. Such a hard place, so far from civilization, esp when you went in '66!!! MY GOODNESS, I was only 2 yrs old...it was so unseen at that time, incredible that you were there!!!!! Thanks for the picture and the thought-provoking nature of it! Amazing!!

Thank you very much everyone. This photo was significant to me, as it marked our most southerly base camp: we were the first expedition to visit this area and did shorter trips from here. It comes from my album "Antarctica (back then)", which I have imported as a set from f****r and, as I have not changed the upload dates for most of the photos, the shots are at the beginning of my photostream. I shall update a few key shots, such as this - but feel free to peruse the album. :)
