Swarms are for collecting
A small swarm of bees.

The Queen is safely inside, near the top. The generally older workers (females) who have left the original hive, cluster around the Queen, while a few workers scout around for a spot for a new hive.

That's exactly what the bees were doing: swarming. I was busy catching them in a cardboard box.
