Philip S. - Thanks! (-:

James Ruddy (or Sir when holding a gun (-: ) - No, just two! Wasps have an additional three arranged in a triangle on their heads!

Michel_Villeneuve53 - Thank you!

Dennis Smith (etc) - Thanks! :-) Sometimes I'm lucky and get a good photo! (-:

I'm not real familiar with insect anatomy....except for stingers and the other obvious things about them.

Three basic parts:

Head - if it has jaws they will be found here! The Antennae also, usually located between the eyes and on on the forehead!
Thorax - Legs attached to this, only six, anymore and it either isn't an insect or it's a radioactive mutant! :-) Also the wings!
Abdomen - here be the stinger! Some insects can spray chemicals too!

That's most of my knowledge about insects right there! :-)

That should win a prize. If this were Flickr we could give you a brightly coloured award with animation effects!!!

Oh...I hated commenting on people's photos on flickr when I knew they belonged to awards groups. I used to have to mute activity on them because every time I went there I'd have to scroll through an endless series of meaningless flashing annoyances. Even if I really liked a picture I"d withhold any comments until I read what kind of groups they put them in so I didn't have to deal with it. I know some people like that kind of thing, to each their own, but it sure isn't for me.

I have one contact on Flickr who seems to like those groups - there'll be repeated flashing icons of two or three designs for a few days then that's it!
