Stamped and embroidered hedgehog linen blend tag

Stamped and embroidered hedgehog linen blend tag
Use as a keychain, as a handbag charm or mark family member's towels or hats and mittens baskets.

Stamp: Favorite Stamp Set Forest Animals by Kodomo No Kao

1. Stamp an image on fabric and draw a tag shape around it.
2. Embroider your text and trim the fabric into a tag shape.
3. Cut out a blank back piece for the tag. Pin (or baste) front and back right sides together.
4. Sew around the tag. Leave a gap so you can turn the tag inside out. Sew the gap shut.
5. Optional: take the tag home and press it with an iron. (This makes topstitching easier.)
6. Stitch a decorative topstitch around the tag with embroidery thread.
7. Take the tag home and insert an eylet.

The ribbon I cut from a t-shirt, many of which have a ribbon to keep them on hangers in the store, but I keep most clothes folded at home and reuse the ribbons elsewhere.

FOR CRAFTING THIS ON THE GO pack the following into your sewing box: stamped fabric scraps with the outline of the tag pattern marked around the stamped image, embroidery thread, embroidery needles, sewing thread to match your fabric, sewing needles, pins, small scissors. (I made the tag on the go and brought it home for the final step, the attaching of the eylet.)
