Unser Bürgermeister hat sie umlegen lassen für einen Pfad der Sinne, höhö.
Aber die Erinnerung bleibt.

It's all memories now. Our mayor let them hew and shred.

o0o Left, they provide many things, eyesaw for some,
beauty for others, landing place for birds and somewhere
for our little creatures to hide in and they make wonderful
subjects to photograph in the way you have Norbert ;-) oOo

What beautiful willows! The willow supports many hundreds of different species that rely on the willow for home, food, even medication...

They are not dead either in your photograph. Willow, the Crack Willow Salix fragilis anyway, relies on splitting and letting its boughs fall to propagate itself. When they split and fall they are not dead, they are spreading.

Vote the mayor out of office next election maybe?

Das ist schon reichlich paradox. Sozusagen sinn-los. Nun ja, es gibt seltsame Leute.
Ein ziemlich gespenstisches Photo...
