The original song is "Now that I've seen you" from Miss Saigon. I changed the lyrics to make them fit for one of our role playing game characters, Zahira. Zahira fell in love with a scoundrel who cannot be loyal. They both have a child together, and the scoundrel loves his son, so that is why he's still staying with the mother whom he really likes, but who he not deeply loves... hehe... our group has some real drama queens in it :D
This is my voice, I've been taking singing lessons now for the *counts* 5th time - so my voice really has improved but of course it's still not very good - what do I expect after 5 lessons ;o) So please be not too harsh in your criticism, I'm really practicing every day :D

The original song here is sung by the wife of an American who before he had married here was in the Vietnam War and had a love affair with a girl there. Then he came back to America and didn't know that the girl, Kim, was pregnant. He got married to an American woman (who sings this song) and is happy... but then somehow (I don't know why) he's returning with his wife to Vietnam and meets Kim and his child. In this song, his wife says that now, that she's seen Kim, she can understand why her husband never told her about this relationship, because Kim is a great woman. But that she also loves her husband and is going to fight for him.
And in the end of the musical, Kim commits suicide so that she won't stand betweem him and his wife, but her child can have a father.
Very sad story!
Zahira is a role playing character of mine, so she's not important, you don't have to know her ;o)
