Map of the Riparian Republic
The Riparian Republic was the largest of the early successor states to the USA following the collapse caused by the Great Flood of 2050. The Postdeluvian Era saw a mass renaming of surviving cities (and the creation of not a few completely new ones. Curio…

So different
A poster advertising a forthcoming film "Så Olika" (So Different or So Unlike) seen on my mornign walk yesterday. Taken with the camera in my mobile phone.

Victor - helicopter pilot
Victor (aged 7) is very interested in machinery. Especially he loved this helicopter at the Aeroseum.
|
A long walk to the Aeroseum
Our forward planning was a little dodgy. We hadn't realised it was half a kilometre from the nearest bus stop to the air museum at Säve. But Victor gamely walked the whole way - and back after our visit.

Victor and Agneta read a book
My godson Victor is also my wife's nephew. He came to visit over the weekend. Out on the town waiting for a bus was an opportunity to read his favourite book (again). The book is "Jag kan laga alla bilar" (I can fix all sorts of cars).

Victor holding hands
My godson Victor (aged 7) came to visit over the weekend. He lives in a small town north of here so a visit to Gothenburg is a visit to the Big City. He was very impressed by the lifts in the Universeum on Friday.

Victor on the tram

Video installation
An arts festival in Gothenburg running through the Autumn had a lot of video installations. I know I oughtn't be taking photos ... but couldn't resist trying the camera in my mobile phone.

Lingon berries sold by the scoop
IKEA stores around the world serve these up with "Swedish" meatballs - thought you might like to see them as sold from a market stall near here. This pic has been languishing in the memory of my mobile phone for a month. (In Britain at least IKEA call the…

The end of season magnolia
This magnolia is beautiful in the spring with it's white blossoms.

Big moles
They look like molehills to me - but I wouldn't want to meet one of the moles. I'm a bit worried about Lena C out there. What if they suddenly drag her down underground. Will I have to rush to dig her up again?

Autumn acers
Autumn colours in these leaves of a tree in the Japanese part of the Botanical Gardens.
|
Flower threads (macro)
I don't know what these flowers are called. Pretty though!

Moss and leaf
A fallen autumn leaf on a bed of moss in the Gothenburg Botanical Gardens.
|
Autumn reflexions
Or, if you prefer, Fall reflections! The lower pond in the rock garden of the Gothenburg Botanical Gardens.
|
Backlit tree
On the path through the Botanical Gardens up to the Rockery.

Ice on the water
Ice on the surface of the water of the pond in the Gothenburg Botanical Gardens. Like the photo of the leaf (below), this was taken into the sun. It's not desaturated, but it might almost as well be.
|
Leaf with drops of water (desaturated)
This leaf floating on the surface of the water was caught in the glare of the sun and the colour version is practially the same as this. Not a lot of desaturating, in other words. (Worth a visit to the large version, I think.)
