Hi Larry. Thanks*. We are so lucky to have known this aircraft in it's heyday. Sadly missed.

A small story...

My Nan had a District Nurse come in to her when I was around 4 years old (now 62) . The nurse's name was Ivy.

Ivy was the fiancee of an RAF pilot Instructor call Len Jupp. Len trained Vulcan pilots !

Ivy was an older bride.. in her late 30s.. she had no parents.. both killed in the War. Ivy asked if my Dad would give her away.

SOoooo we all went to a wonderful RAF wedding.

Len and Ivy used to come and see us.. and Len could be pressed to tell tales of the young cub pilots errors and ""oooppppsss" s in the Vulcans .

There began my love affair with the Vulcan which has never ended.

Nice story Pam. I remember seeing the Vulcan take off in the 70s. It was amazing. The ground shook as it roared into the sky.
