Back in March, I came across this little frog while walking with Marduk and some guyfriends by the river.
My younger friend (five at the time) run away from it in horror, much to the amusement of his Dad and I!
I picked it up and was thrilled when it allowed me to hold it and take a few photos, without jumping off.
Back then, I thought I had found my "Prince" already, but notwithstanding, I gave the little amphibian a kiss before setting it back down on the ground... a custom I adopted on the other side of the pond when I encountered a rather large member of the Anura family (top right).
My theory being, kiss the frog anyway... even if it is not a Prince for me,
it may be for somebody else ~ or a Princess for that matter!
So, back in June I found myself thinking about the frog, my habit of kissing them and various other related bits that were swirling around in my mind. I looked for the photos and was chuffed to find this one that shows a glint in its eye... A day or so later I was invited to dinner and was delighted to see that there was a gorgeous green glass frog serving as my napkin~holder... what a coincidence! What really surprised me was that apparently I had given the frog to my hostess as a gift some years back, which is why she'd set it out for me (the others had their napkins under knives!) but I had no memory of this at all. I took a photo of the crystal frog and gave it a kiss, as per my custom, to the amusement of those at the table. :~)
I'd been meaning to upload this photo since then, in fact I uploaded one but never got round to uploading the others. Recently I've been re~thinking the kissing thing and have received a few visits from some froggy family, so I thought I'd finally finish what I started... before continuing...

Yes, somewhat like chicken with the texture of a smaller bird.
I've enjoyed quite a few in my time, done in garlic and oil...
but now, I just kiss them!
