over the odd sedilia rise one of the original unsubdivided gallery arches, and over that the clerestory with its passage, all of around 1130. the wooden frame is undated to my knowledge

beautiful c12 piscina built into the original stone screen [ the two doors that it originally had show that it was a rood screen not a pulpitum ] that divided the laity from the monks at the east end of the nave.

early c12 crossing pier. it is possible to see just how thin a skin of ashlar the normans used here.

c12 column in east end ruins. this capital seems to date from c.1180, being of waterleaf form, which is odd in part of the church deemed to have been completed by c.1130
